Decorations / Event Signage

All set up request and details should be discussed in detail with an ASU Polytechnic Student Union Event scheduler. All decorations must meet minimum safety standards.

  1. No display materials of any sort may be affixed to the walls or doors without prior approval.
  2. No tape is permitted (including duct, masking and clear tape) in any student union space without prior approval. All electrical cords must be covered with gaffers tape, or cord covers provided by the Student Union.
  3. The use of nails, screws, or thumbtacks is prohibited in any space.
  4. Emergency exits and service doors are not to be blocked with any furniture, decorations, or equipment.
  5. All smoke, fog and bubble machines and light show projectors using any type of dry ice or liquid are prohibited.
  6. The use of paint, glue, or aerosol products is not permitted
  7. It is the event planners responsibility to return the room(s) to their original set-up and condition after the completion of the event. All trash must be discarded in the waste receptacles. All cardboard boxes need to be broken down and left by the nearest inside trash receptacle. If the space is not found in its original condition, your organization may be charged a cleaning and possible damage fee.
  8. Candles and/or open flames are not permitted in the student union or student union annex.

Event Signage
Signs for events in the Student Union or Student Union Annex may be displayed outside meeting rooms pending approval of the Coordinator of Operations.

Displaying a large banner to attach to the building requires 10 days notice to the Coordinator of Operations. The designated space for large banners is above the West entry way. Facilities will hang the banner; event planners are not permitted to hang banners on their own.
