The following information, found at the top of all Degree Audits, identifies the academic degree program shown in the report:
A. Degree and Major B. College C. Catalog Year D. Program Code (DPROG)

DARS gets information about the students, the student's status and transcripts from the Student Information System (SIS). This information changes frequently. So, it is important to check when a DARS report was run to make sure you are looking at up-to-date information.
A. Date
B. Student Name and ID number
The student's name and all but the last 4 digits of the ID number are omitted from the Degree Audits run from ASU Interactive Services. This is to protect the privacy of students who run and print DARS reports at Computing Sites.
C. Student's College, degree & major codes
D. Grad Status
The following codes along with the term code provides useful information:
O= Override (waiver) for the DOG has been posted
P= Posted. A DOG has been posted. The term indicates when the student anticipates graduating.
A= Applied to graduate
R= Reapplied to graduate
G= Graduated
E. Major and Catalog Year verification
DARS tells us whether the academic degree program selected for the audit matches the student's college, degree and major on SIS. (Note: if the student's degree code is a 14, pre-professional, this will not match even if the major matches. See Example 2)
DARS lets us know if the catalog year selected for the audit matches the one on the student's DOG. If the student has not filed a DOG, DARS does not find a match.
Example 1

Example 2: Below the major verification says "NO." This is the student's degree code is a 14 (pre-professional). Students must have professional status for the major to mathch.

DARS will include optional messages on student's DARS reports when they are relevant. Usually these appear near the beginning of the report. Examples of these optional messages include:
A. Admission Deficiencies
B. Repeated Courses
C. Mandatory Advising Alert- this one comes at the end of the audit.

Example 2

International and ASU Pre-database Transcripts
Courses that a student has taken at a foreign institution and all ASU course taken prior to 1980 do not appear on the Student Information System (SIS). Therefore, these course will not appear in DARS reports. However, the hours do appear in the audit and are included in the students total hours.
Courses on international and pre-database transcripts can be applied to requirements in DARS. When exceptions involving such courses are sent to the Dean's Office a hard copy of the transcript(s), obtained from the Records and Transcripts division of the Registrar's Office at ASU Main, must be attached to the students DARS report.
A. PRC HRS- "Permanent Record Card," or pre-database hours are credits earned at ASU prior to 1980. These hours are shown in the list of not
applied ASU courses near the end of the audit.
B. INT HRS- International hours are shown in the list of transfer elective courses at the end of the DARS reports.
